SHOPPERS at the Super Pharmacy Megastore had a dose of fun recently when they participated in games, watched demonstrations and discovered trivia about health and ageing.
Called “Care Avengers: No Fear for Care is Here”, the event was a collaboration between Super Pharmacy and Aged Care Group (ACG) and showcased ACG’s Circles Home Care services.
Participants had a Health Care Assessment, one of Circles Home Care services, which evaluates an individual’s condition holistically.
There was also a “Challenge for Balance” test where participants stood a chance of winning prizes if they could balance on wobble boards and balance discs for 30 seconds.
Shoppers also received a goodie bag each, sponsored by ACG and Super Pharmacy.
Many senior citizens said they were pleased with ACG’s activities and felt that there was added value in their weekend shopping.
Super Pharmacy chief executive officer David Mah said one of Super Pharmacy’s focus points is aged care.
“I like the vision of Aged Care Group, which is to innovate and transform the perception of ageing. This will make seniors feel they are relevant and still able to contribute to society,” said Mah.
As many households now consist of adult children who have to work and are not always able to take their elderly parents for hospital visits, Mah believes the Circles Home Care services would be helpful.
